AGDC and FERC staff met in Washington, D.C. on October 18, 2018. Representatives for Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Kenai Peninsula Borough and the city of Valdez were also present. FERC discussed the environmental review process. This Project Update give a list (almost two pages long) of the issues covered at the October 18 meeting, issues AGDC addressed in its October 22, filing, and requests from FERC due on November 19. Such issues include HDD, bird conservation, work pads, permafrost and thaw sensitive soils, pipeline water crossings, effects on surface water, groundwater monitoring, and emissions from compressor stations west of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. | ||
