Summary: | Australia is increasing its liquefied natural gas production and export. Industry must contend with regulations, taxes, costs, and field development problems. The history of Australia's petroleum and natural gas production is told from its early days in the 1950s. All of Australia's gas customers are Asian markets, and in fact 97% is transported to just three: Japan, China, and South Korean. Coal-bed development is an important part of this industry. Future markets are briefly discussed, and future LNG projects for conventional gas and coal-bed gas are listed. |
