Description
Summary:This study was conducted to collect baseline data for environmental analysis of the proposed Knik Arm Crossing Project. The crossing options (bridge, causeway, tunnel, etc.) have the potential to alter physical characteristics of Knik Arm and, consequently, affect the marine biota. This study provides insight into the ecology of Knik Arm with special emphasis on the behavior and ecology of juvenile salmon as they pass through Knik Arm during their annual migration, although other marine organisms were studied and marine mammals and birds were observed. A boat-based sampling program was conducted in Knik Arm in May and June, 1983.
