Also surveyed were watercourses whose tributary streams would be crossed by the pipeline and in which salmon spawn within influence of discharges from those tributaries. The purpose of the study is to aid in planning of habitat protection during the pipeline construction. Surveys of chinook salmon were performed in the Takhini River, Ibex River, Yukon River, M'Clintock River, Michie Creek, Teslin River, Morley River, Swift River, Smart River, and McNaughton Creek. Surveys of chum salmon were performed in the Kluane River, Duke River, Koidern River, White River, and Christmas Creek.
