Description
Summary:The Alaskan Arctic Gas Pipeline is planned as an all-land route to move natural gas from Prudhoe Bay to connect to pipeline facilities in Canada. Archeological salvage is being proposed along pipeline construction sections in Alaska extending from Prudhoe Bay to pipeline facilities in Yukon. There are two proposed routes--a coastal route and an interior route that crosses into Canada just north of the Old Crow Range. This preliminary proposal summarizes archeological investigations in the areas traversed by both routes and details a research program to conserve those archeological resources in the Alaska portion.
