Summary:This report covers three main alternative projects: Arctic Gas (traversing the Alaska North Slope overland into Canada's Mackenzie River delta and running south along the river into the Midwest with a leg to the western states, also called "Arctic Gas Pipeline Project" and sponsored by Alaskan Arctic Gas Pipeline Company and making use of snow roads), El Paso (traversing Alaska to Prince William Sound and making use of tankers at the coast), and Alcan (paralleling the existing oil pipeline as far as Fairbanks then follow the Alaska Highway thorugh Canada with legs to U.S. regions).
