On October 11, 1984 the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requested that Alaska Power Authority provide a breach analysis of the Watana and Devil Canyon dams assuming they fail under scenarios of sunny day, flood, and earthquake conditions. This report, written by Harza-Ebasco Susitna Joint Venture, contains the response. The National Weather Service dambreak flood forecasting model, DAMBRK, which is coded in Fortran, was selected to simulate the hypothetical dam failures.
