The history of Australia's petroleum and natural gas production is told from its early days in the 1950s. All of Australia's gas customers are Asian markets, and in fact 97% is transported to just three: Japan, China, and South Korean. Coal-bed development is an important part of this industry. Future markets are briefly discussed, and future LNG projects for conventional gas and coal-bed gas are listed.
